Doro revealed details of its latest smartphone at Mobile World Congress 2015. The Doro Liberto® 820 Mini is the stylish compact sibling to the company’s hugely successful Doro Liberto® 820 model that launched in Q4 2014.

The sleek Mini version is pocket size and offers consumers a full Doro smartphone experience at an accessible price point. Doro has developed this innovative device to offer the evolving senior segment much more choice and to further expand its range of smartphones. This mobile is aimed at a user who feels comfortable with their current feature phone but has a strong desire to enjoy the benefits of a smartphone. They feel a little intimated by smartphone and want to make the transition easier, to give them the confidence to learn and ultimately get more from their mobile.

The Doro Liberto® 820 Mini has a compatible charging dock so the phone can be easily placed in to the cradle - making very convenient for the user and removing the need for fiddly cables. The horizontal cradle does more than simply charge the device - it automatically turns the mobile in to ‘dock mode’ when plugged in. This mode turns the phone in to a clock, alarm and photograph slide show. It also automatically makes and receives calls on loud-speaker, has a do not disturb function and plays music.

True to Doro’s core smartphone DNA, the handset comes with My Doro Manager® – the company’s cloud enabled device management and assistance tool.  This offers tutorials, app recommendations and assistance directly to the phone from anywhere in the world by appointed family members or friends.

The user interface is specifically designed to make the experience extremely easy and intuitive. A built-in coach is embedded in to all core applications.  This step-by-step coach mentors the user and helps them to learn to use each function. This encourages the user to feel more confident and to discover more at their own pace.

The home screen features the three most used apps by this audience – phone, texting and camera. It also features three shortcuts with images for the user’s most important contacts – from here the contact can be called, sent a text or emailed.

Its ergonomic design provides the user with an assistance button on the back, physical buttons on the screen, a direct camera button, large icons and great sound quality with HD voice. It has a crisp and clear display meaning the phone is as beautiful to use as it is to look at.

The Doro Liberto® 820 Mini is fully Google certified meaning users can enjoy access to over 2 million applications via the Google Play Store.  Alongside this, Doro has included a selection of recommended apps in the Doro Selection. It is the ideal smartphone for those people who are interested in the benefits that smart technology offers in terms of connectivity, entertainment and security.

Chris Millington, Managing Director at Doro UK and Ireland commented on the launch:  “The device enables quick and fuss-free communication through digital channels - along with a door into the world of social networking, mobile applications and digital medias such as video and photos. The phone has an inbuilt coach offering full support and guidance at every touch point of the user’s journey of digital discovery.”

The device comes in four contemporary colours – steel grey, white and silver, white and black or red.

The Doro Liberto® 820 Mini launches with a listing on Tesco Mobile - the UK’s largest virtual mobile network.  The handset will be available online and across the estate of Tesco Phone Shops nationwide.
